This was a pleasant result of BobCadCam’s art software.  I used the emboss function to make 3D geometry from the light and dark areas on the photo and then used a simple planar 3d toolpath to cut over that model.  I did vectorize the edges of the same photo and chose a few outlines that created the whiskers and detail seen on the aluminum plate.  I wasn’t happy with the result, so I ran over the plate with a button insert fly cutter and it created the shiny (dark) areas on the top surface.  It is fairly neat that when you tilt the plate in the light, the image reverses the dark and light areas, so you see what appears to be a negative of what is shown here.
